Acoustic Smart theatres (averaging between $50,000 and $80,000) are made of its trademarked "acoustical architecture"—the same concept used in recording studios. They use fiberglass to absorb sound, reflective panels to reflect the sound, and diffuser panels to scatter it. "By placing these in the room, you're controlling the sound so that it's exactly the way the director intended it to be, rather than just bouncing it all over the place," Charschan says.
